What is The Spot?
The Spot is a place for teens to come and hang out, grab a snack, get homework help, and become a part of the community. We are a nonprofit and are supported by the B-V-G Municipal Alliance, the Camden County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Inc., and the surrounding communities.
Who can come to The Spot?
The Spot welcomes all teens between the ages of 12 and 18 years of age OR between 6th and 12th grade.
Can my teen’s younger sibling join them at The Spot?
Only teens between the ages of 12 and 18 may be in The Spot.
Can I as a parent join my teen in The Spot?
The only adults that we permit in our facility during open hours is our approved staff. We do not allow any unauthorized adults in the facility at any time.
Can my teen leave The Spot at any time?
Yes. The Spot is not responsible for keeping teens in the facility.
What happens if a teen gets into trouble at the mall?
The Spot is not responsible for any teen activities that take place outside of our facility. If a teen is accused of unruly behavior, stealing, or any other offense it will be handled by Mall security.
How much does The Spot cost to attend?
There is no fee to attend The Spot.
What is there to do at The Spot?
We have all kinds of things to do! We have a wii, xbox360, ping pong, air hockey, pool, card games, board games, magazines, books, and arts and crafts! We also hold events during the month- check out our Upcoming Events page to see what’s happening!
Can I apply for a job at The Spot?
We are not currently taking applications for employment. However, The Spot does accept teen volunteers.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers help out in the center by working the snack counter, helping to run events, and keeping the facility organized.
Can I Volunteer if I am not a teen?
While we appreciate community support, we are only taking teen applicants at this time. If you would like to support the facility in another way, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What kinds of donations does The Spot accept?
The Spot would gladly accept donations of any gently used board games, video games (xbox360 or Wii), decks of cards, supplies for pool, air hockey, ping pong, and arts & craft supplies. We also accept monetary donations to help us keep all of our opportunities for the teens as cheap as possible. Please e-mail us at email@example.com for more information.
